Every figure on this page is computed from the inputs you enter, by the method stated below it. The only constants DailyLogDesk supplies are the published reporting clocks and assessment steps, each cited where it is used. The defaults are a worked example to replace with your own.

A free risk assessment and method statement template, built from your task rather than downloaded blank: the assessment with the hazards found on the walk, scored before and after the controls, and the method statement that applies those controls step by step in the order the work is done, with the people, the plant, the permits and the emergency arrangements in their own blocks. The tools on this site build both, free and without an account, no card and no trial clock; DailyLogDesk Pro keeps the pack against the project with the sign-on sheet.

Free means no account, no card, no trial

The risk assessment template and the risk assessment and method statement tool on this site build the pack from your inputs and print it, with no account, no card and no clock running. What is paid for is the record: Pro keeps the pack against the project with the revisions and the sign-on sheets, for the whole site team.

The assessment, filled from the site

Numbered hazard rows from the walk, who is harmed and how, likelihood and severity before the controls, the control, the score after it, the person responsible. The template scores out of 25 and prints the reduction. The rows are yours; the shape is the template's.

The method, with the controls at the step

The sequence of work from arrival to leaving site with each control written into the step where it applies, so the person on site at that step has the control in front of them. The people, the plant, the permits and the emergency block are their own sections.

What a main contractor checks before accepting it

That the hazards are this site's, that the controls sit in the method's steps, that the people and the plant are named, that the rescue and the first aid are real. A free template passes that check when it was filled at the site; the same template filled at the desk does not, whatever it cost.

Free risk assessment and method statement template: common questions

Is it really free?

Yes. No account, no card, no trial period. Pro is the paid record against the project; the template and the tool are not.

Can I print the pack as a PDF?

Yes. The template prints the assessment and the method as a filled PDF with the scores and the signature blocks.

Is the free template accepted by principal contractors?

A pack is accepted for what is in it, not for what it cost. Filled from the site with the controls at the steps, it is the pack they ask for.
